(L-R): Maxine Craig, associate professor of women and gender studies, University of California, Davis, and contributor to 100,000 Years of Beauty; Michael Bisson, professor and chair of the department of anthropology at McGill University, Montreal, and contributor to 100,000 Years of Beauty; Elizabeth Azoulay, editorial director, 100,000 Years of Beauty; Linda Wells, editor-in-chief of Allure; event moderator Stephan Kanlian, chairperson of FIT’s master’s degree program in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management.

On Wednesday evening, February 3, at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) at 7th Avenue and 27th Street in Manhattan, beauty industry experts gathered for a fascinating talk titled “100,000 Years of Beauty”—a fascinating look at beauty symbols over the ages, as well as the title of a newly released, comprehensive book on the topic, sponsored by the L’Oréal Corporate Foundation.
